Vehicle History by VIN (VehicleHistoryByVIN.com) is a consumer website that sells a one-time vehicle history report for someone checking a used car. You'll be charged as JBAM LLC — the legal name behind Vehicle History by VIN.

The site is https://www.vehiclehistorybyvin.com. Support mail goes to [email protected]. We do not publish a street address, a phone number, or a support response-time promise.

A single report is $9.99, paid once through Stripe Checkout on the homepage or through the public agent API after the customer agrees to that price. There is no subscription. You enter a 17-character VIN, or a U.S. plate, yourself. Card details stay on Stripe. An assistant must not pay for the customer and must not handle card data. We never see the card.

A paid report can include Title brands, Odometer, Accidents, Theft, Liens, Impounds, Prior listings, Model recalls, Report brief, when those records were reported for the VIN. NHTSA recall campaigns, safety ratings, and EPA figures are labelled as model-year information rather than facts about this VIN. Listing records are added after payment when that source returns them. Empty categories stay empty. A report lists what was reported. It is not an inspection.

The free preview confirms year, make and model for that VIN from the public NHTSA vPIC decode when the decode returns them. It also links to a SAMPLE report of a different, fictional vehicle. It does not show this VIN's title, accident, odometer, or other history records. Those records are requested only after payment. The preview names the categories a paid report searches and does not show record counts for this VIN.

The report is pulled and shown in the browser as soon as Stripe confirms payment. Some payment methods take longer to clear; the report is pulled when the payment confirms, not before. If you leave an email address, we also email one private link. The report is on screen either way.

Paid title and brand records are NMVTIS-based data from our vehicle-history data provider. That provider also returns other reported events, such as odometer readings, accidents, theft, liens, and salvage, when those records exist. We pass on what the provider returns and do not create the underlying records. We are not the official U.S. government NMVTIS portal. The free preview's year, make and model come from the public NHTSA vPIC database, which does not include title or accident history.

NMVTIS is the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System, a federal database of title, salvage, junk and insurance total-loss records. VehicleHistoryByVIN.com is an independent consumer report built around title and brand records reported to NMVTIS. It is not a guarantee that every event was filed. We are not the official U.S. government NMVTIS portal (vehiclehistory.bja.ojp.gov) and we are not a government agency. We are not Carfax and we do not sell official Carfax reports. We are not AutoCheck. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government agency or any other vehicle history reporting company.

A report is not a pre-purchase inspection, a warranty, a title guarantee, or legal or financial advice. It does not include service or maintenance history. It is not proof the vehicle is safe or undamaged. Model-year safety and fuel figures, when shown, are about that model year, not a measurement of this VIN. Records nobody filed are not in the report. Reports may not be used for credit, insurance, employment, or tenancy decisions.

The sample report is invented data for a vehicle that does not exist. It is labelled SAMPLE on every screen and is never served in place of a report you paid for.

Because a report is delivered online as soon as payment is confirmed and cannot be returned, sales are final once a report has been delivered. We will refund you in full when we charged you but could not deliver a report at all, when no records came back for your VIN (the report is headed "No usable history records came back for this VIN."), or when you were charged more than once for the same VIN in error.
